Table service old school diner style Mexican restaurant with ample parking. Restaurant and restrooms were fairly clean, they could use a little attention but this was after the breakfast rush so it might not be typical. Service was very pleasant and helpful but a little slow. Food was very good. Portions are huge, two breakfast burritos are almost impossible to finish even though they were excellent. Recommend for a no frills great meal.
Came in for breakfast and had the two smothered breakfast burritos with sausage and had green chilies on it and a cup of coffee. Food was very good. Especially for my first breakfast in Socorro. The plate was HUGE with a ton of food. The burritos had a ton of flavor and this batch of green chilies had some great flavor and not too spicy. Service was 5 as well. Atmosphere was a typical Southwestern theme. There is a really nice memorial to Sophia.
Best customer service ever! The owner came to our table introduced himself and just gave us the family and friends kind of feeling. We pass through here everytime we go to Juarez and always make it a point to stop to pig out. The food here is hmmmmm hmmmmmm GOOD! You can thank me later. :)
We stopped in here for lunch last week while staying in Socorro. First of all, the hours posted here that they are open are technically correct but right now they stop indoor dining after lunch at 1 pm. After that they only serve at the drive thru window for take home orders. They are centrally located and easy to find, just off of California Street. They have a large parking lot and when we walked in were greeted by the folks at the cash register and they said to sit anywhere we liked. The interior is brightly lit and the walls are covered with colorful murals of scenes from around Socorro, such as the Bosque del Apache WLR, the local Catholic church and even the Large Array radio telescopes just over the mountain. We had spent the morning down at the Bosque taking pictures of the birds so we had not had breakfast so this was sort of brunch for us. We placed our orders and in a few minutes plates covered with lovely New Mexico style Mexican food came out. We had burritos and enchiladas, they came with very good Spanish rice and refried beans. They also brought out fresh sopapillas that were light an airy. Soon, our tummies were full so we got up and paid at the register. I recommend you try Sofia's Kitchen when in Socorro, you will be pleased with it I am sure!
A Socorro classic. I love their enchiladas and Frito pie, but they’re definitely most well-known (and well-loved) for their breakfast burritos :)
First time here. It took a bit before someone could take our order. Bummed out the taco salad was on flour and not corn. The chicken fried speak plate was delicious. The burger was so so . Fries were really good.
OMG! Food is delicious, chili is hot, food portions are massive!! 1st timers here, service is excellent, waiter friendly
